Cargill Donates Land to UNOH

Posted on Thursday, September 03, 2015

The University of Northwestern Ohio is the proud recipient of nearly 3 acres of land from Cargill AgHorizons United States.  The property donated by Cargill consists of 2.736 acres along the north border of the current College Park and Northwestern Park dorm communities.

“Across the state and across the world, Cargill believes in enriching the communities we’re a part of,” said Michael Sgandurra, production supervisor with Cargill AgHorizons.  “By donating this land to the University of Northwestern Ohio, they’re now able to provide the necessary resources for their growing population to meet their needs. Cargill is happy to help one of Lima’s most important entities continue to thrive and prosper.”

“The University of Northwestern Ohio has been working with Cargill the past few years about acquiring some land to install an alternate boulevard connecting the Cable Road entrance of its campus to the Eastown Road entrance,” said UNOH President Dr. Jeffrey A. Jarvis. “This boulevard, cut through the woods, will include biking and walking paths in addition to private fencing, and will make travelling through campus more efficient and aesthetic for our students, faculty, staff and guests.  I want to thank everyone at Cargill for the donation of the property and assisting UNOH in making this project possible.”

Construction on the new boulevard is expected to begin in the spring of 2016 with an estimated completion date of late summer 2016.
