Officials from the University of Northwestern Ohio and Myrtle Beach Speedway announced today two new entitlement sponsorships for this coming November. The former Myrtle Beach 400, an iconic event for the past 23 years, will now be the “UNOH 400” presented by Crown Reef Beach Resort. The prestigious UNOH “Battle at the Beach” presented by Crown Reef Beach Resort, which was held the past two seasons at Daytona International Speedway as a kick-off to Speedweeks, is being relocated to the Myrtle Beach Speedway and will be one of the two season-ending finales.

The .538 mile asphalt racetrack has hosted NASCAR Xfinity events, and the stars that drive the cars in 1990s.  Since then the track has become a staple for southern racers over the last 15 years.

Robert Lutz, President/CEO of Myrtle Beach Speedway and the NASCAR Racing Experience stated, “With the Battle at the Beach’s well known history, we are proud to now host such a historic event here at Myrtle Beach Speedway.  With the success of the Myrtle Beach 400 for the past 23 years, this will take the track to the next level.  We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with such a great organization like UNOH.  What they do for their students is a remarkable thing, and to be able to assist in getting the word to potential collegiate students in our area is the icing on the cake.”

Dr. Jeffrey A. Jarvis, President of UNOH said, “Everyone at the University of Northwestern Ohio is excited about this new partnership with Myrtle Beach Speedway and continuing the UNOH Battle at the Beach.”

“Being involved in the historic UNOH 400 provides an additional opportunity for UNOH to showcase our institution and programs to future students in that area.” Dr. Jarvis went on to say, “Bob Lutz, Steve Zacharias, and Kurt Weinhardt have welcomed us warmly and we are grateful to have this opportunity for our staff and students. Matt Klugman from Crown Reef Beach Resort & Water Park has stepped in to enhance this event even more and we are very fortunate to have them on board as the presenting sponsor for both events.”

Matt Klugman, Director Sales, & Marketing for Crown Reef Beach Resort & Water Park commented, “We feel this is a great opportunity to be involved with such a historic speedway. With the beautiful amenities that the Crown Reef holds, we know that it will enhance the drivers experience during this years’ events as well as the UNOH 400 presented by Crown Reef and UNOH Battle at The Beach, presented by Crown Reef this upcoming November.”
