The University of Northwestern Ohio is proud to announce the addition of a new Robotics and Automation Associate’s Degree to the UNOH curriculum.  A press conference and ribbon cutting will be held on October 15th at 10:00am in the newly renovated Robotics building located at 1391 N Cable Road to celebrate the addition of the degree program along with completion of the new facility.

The Ohio Board of Regents granted UNOH approval to offer the degree this summer.  Since then preparations have been under way in the new Robotics facility with an anticipated program start date of January 4, 2016.

The Associate of Applied Science in Robotics and Automation degree will be offered through the College of Applied Technologies, and can be completed in less than 2 years.  The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports this in-demand job field offers average salaries topping $50,000 per year.  With automation technology gaining ground in all types of industries, there is a growing demand for technicians to be able to customize, maintain, diagnose, and repair machines used in these facilities. Technicians are in demand in the Automotive, Building, Farming, Medical, Food Processing, and Military fields.  Technical education includes coursework in automation (mechanical and electrical), fluid power, programmable logic controllers, robotics integration and more.
