The University of Northwestern Ohio chapter of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) will compete in the BPA national competition held May 5th through May 10th in Boston, Massachusetts during the BPA National Leadership Conference.
Eight UNOH students, who all placed in the top 3 in their respective areas of expertise at the state competition held in February, will be judged on various business skills. The national competition includes both individual and team events, and all events are graded on a time test basis. Event subjects include management, marketing, human resources, accounting, finance, office management, and many computer competency events.
The UNOH students competing are: Aaron Dickerson (Fredericktown, OH); Shanna Farler (Lima, OH); Paige Lehman (Wapakoneta, OH); Eric Lochtefeld (Celina, OH); Ashleigh Mangini (Lima, OH); Patrizio Martinez Rodriguez (St. Marys, OH); Chaz Ramirez (McComb, OH); and Jason Rue (Continental, OH). The University of Northwestern Ohio BPA advisor is Dr. Robyn King-VanDyne.
Business Professionals of America is a not-for-profit, co-curricular educational association of student members preparing for careers in business. The Business Professionals of America organization, formed in 1966, seeks to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. Currently, there are more than 600 BPA chapters nationwide at the College/University level. Five Chapters exist in the State of Ohio.
