The University of Northwestern Ohio will be hosting its 2nd annual UNOH Veterans Services Outreach Day on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the UNOH Event Center at 1450 N. Cable Rd. This event is FREE and open to all Active Duty, National Guard, Reserves and Veterans.
This event is designed to help local veterans make connections with the services that are available to them in the region. Attendees will be able to enroll in VA Health Coverage, make disability claims, check on the status of disability claims, learn about service dogs and the equestrian therapy program, and touch base with the Veterans Food Pantry and area Veterans Service Officers. There will also be representatives in attendance from OhioMeansJobs.com, Troops to Teachers, Military One Source, Disabled Veterans Outreach Specialists, and the Department of Job and Family Services.
For the past seven years, the University of Northwestern Ohio has been named a Military Friendly School® which puts it in the top 15% of colleges and universities nationwide. This Veterans Services Outreach Day event is a perfect example of UNOH supporting the men and women who serve in all branches of the military.
Service members and veterans are encouraged to bring a copy of their DD-214, VA ID Card, Military ID, or County Veterans ID Card so that the service support agencies can serve them better.
