The UNOH Chapter of the American Marketing Association attended the 39th Annual International Collegiate Conference of the American Marketing Association in New Orleans, LA from March 16 – 18, 2017 and improved upon last year’s performance as they were recognized as the Top Small Chapter of the year!
This distinction is impressive as it follows up last year’s honor of being a Top 5 Small Chapter and is only the 4th year of the student group’s affiliation with the AMA. Each year, every collegiate chapter must file a chapter report and annual report with the American Marketing Association in order to remain an official chapter. Currently there are over 370 collegiate chapters in the world. Chapter reports are judged by volunteer advisors as to the quality of the reports submitted as well as the specific activities undertaken by the chapter.
Chapters are then rewarded for their performance. There are two divisions: the large chapters (more than 30 members) and the small chapters (less than 30 members). Although there is division based upon the size of the chapter, each collegiate chapter has the same rigorous requirements of professionalism and is judged on the following categories: professional development, community service and social impact, fundraising, membership, Internal/External communications, chapter operations, financial results and presentation.
This year the UNOH AMA Chapter was named as the Top Small Chapter of the Year! Club members were awarded a plaque, will receive a cash prize, and will serve a Host Chapter next year at the conference.
The students attending the conference were Sandra Woodmansee, President; Robert Rose, VP of Internal Communications; Daniel Sanchez, VP of Recruitment and Membership, Nikolina Nicolic, former VP of Internal Communications, Adam Lowe, and Jessica Hellman-Rota, along with advisors Dr. Rick Goeb and Dr. Susan Mann.
