UNOH to Host Great Oaks District Pinewood Derby

The University of Northwestern Ohio is proud to host the upcoming Great Oaks District Pinewood Derby. The event will take place on April 8, 2017 from 8:30am until 2:00pm at the UNOH “Garage”, the gymnasium on the UNOH Campus.
More than 270 1st through 5th grade Cub Scouts in Allen, Hardin, and Putnam Counties who placed in their local Pinewood Derby races have advanced to this event. The Scouts who win in this Derby will advance to the Black Swamp Area Council race. Scouts will have a chance to win prizes for work completed on their own derby car. Prizes will be awarded for Best Design and Best Paint.
The Great Oaks District Pinewood Derby is open to the public.
In 2011, the University of Northwestern Ohio donated a new Pinewood Derby track, nicknamed the “UNOH Minisports Track”, to be used by area Scouts in local pack and district races.
