UNOH Students visit a vendor's booth at Girls Night

With last year being such a success, UNOH Student Activities decided to organize a 2nd annual Girls Night Out! The event was held at Racers Station on Tuesday, January 30th from 6pm to 11pm. Free dinner and snacks, make-up demos, a chick flick and more were all provided at the Girls Night Out.

The evening started with free dinner that included pizza, chicken wings, rolls and more. Food is often the main attraction that brings everyone together at UNOH events as one attendee said, “I came for the free dinner but once I saw all the cool stuff they had to offer, I decided to stay”. Sweet treats of cookies and cupcakes were also offered to compliment the main dish.

Various vendors were in attendance to offer their health and beauty products to those who stopped by the event. Students took advantage of this opportunity and talked with many of the vendors to learn about new products on the market that could be just right for them. “I think it’s great that these smaller vendors are showcasing their products. I’ll definitely be trying a few of them” said another student.

As the girls shopped, they had the chance to enter their names into a drawing to win one of the prize baskets available.  There was a date night basket filled with movie tickets & restaurant gift cards, a Spa Day basket with a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure, and a cozy night in basket that contained a blanket, some DVDs, and games with some sweet treats.  At 7:30pm the winners were announced.  Some girls even won some of the special prizes handed out by vendors throughout the evening.

Girls Night Out ended with a showing of ‘Me Before You’ and popcorn at 8:00pm. The movie told a story of a paralyzed man, his new care worker and their unlikely bond. Although the 2018 Girls Night Out ended a couple hours later, many students were already eager to see what the next annual event would bring. One student said “Me and a few friends enjoyed being here tonight and will most definitely attend next year.”
