UNOH Students Learn How to Create Their Personal Brand

Chad Hughes speaks to UNOH students on their personal brand

As the school year is coming to an end for the Colleges of Business, Health Professions, and Occupational Professions, many students are searching for careers after graduation or an internship during the summer months. The University of Northwestern Ohio’s Marketing and Sport Marketing/Management students had the opportunity to attend Chad Hughes’ presentation on “Branding Yourself.” Chad is designer and event planner for Lima Memorial Health Systems.

The presentation took students through the steps of preparing for face-to-face interaction while applying and interviewing for a position. Chad expressed the importance of building a personal brand by identifying one’s mantra, brand, logo, story, and voice. The students received many tips for developing their portfolios and resumes using their personal brand.

Marketing student, Natalie Ginter, said she never realized how important it was to have her own personal brand stating, “It isn’t enough to be just a college graduate. I have to think about what makes me stand out.” Chad provided the students tips on how to build their brand to stand out among other job applicants.

Students will get to put these skills to use at UNOH at the upcoming Reverse Career and Internship Fair on Wednesday, May 22nd. This event will allow the students to connect with many companies and potential employees!
