Two UNOH students are heading to the experience of a lifetime as they received the opportunity to audition to become a Monster Jam Driver!  All current UNOH students were given the chance to apply for a shot at auditioning for Monster Jam this spring.  When the application deadline arrived there were so many well qualified applicants, the selection committee had to look at every little detail to choose the winner.  At the end of the process – the University just couldn’t decide between their top two finalists.  So, with the blessing of the Monster Jam organization, UNOH offered both students a chance at the driver audition experience!

Brenden Rassel, from Woonsocket, South Dakota will be representing UNOH at Monster Jam University Powered by UNOH in Paxton Illinois this summer. Brenden will be under the watchful eye of 11-time Monster Jam World Champion Tom Meents and a staff of highly-experienced Monster Jam drivers and technicians.  He will have the chance to gain the tools needed to potentially advance within the Monster Jam organization.  Brenden is currently working towards his Automotive Technology Supervision bachelor’s degree from UNOH after successfully completing the Automotive/High Performance Motorsports Associate degrees.

Monster Jam University will also be accepting UNOH student Zach White-Griggs to the audition and potentially a training session this summer!  White-Griggs will start his audition process in Palmetto, Florida, the home of Monster Jam.  If he successfully completes that round, he will head to Paxton to join Brenden at the Monster Jam University Powered by UNOH training facility. White-Griggs is from Glendale, Arizona, is also working towards his Automotive Technology Supervision bachelor’s degree from UNOH after previously completing his Automotive/High Performance Motorsports Associate degrees.

Monster Jam University Powered by UNOH is a one-of-a-kind facility in Illinois that allows athletes the opportunity to acquire and advance the skills needed to create jaw-dropping family entertainment at a Monster Jam event. The challenging tracks at Monster Jam University Powered by UNOH replicate the real Monster Jam on-track experience, giving novice and the veteran athletes equal chances to excel. The unforgiving obstacles test the physical strength, mental stamina and the dexterity it takes to pilot a 12,000-pound Monster Jam truck.

Congratulations Brenden and Zach!  We wish you both the best of luck!
