Danielle McClure, UNOH Director of Student Success (3rd from left) presents check to Mercy Health and Crime Victim Services

The University of Northwestern Ohio, in conjunction with the Ohio State Beauty Academy presented a check worth $1,580.00 to Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima Memorial Health Systems, and Crime Victim Services on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in the ER waiting room in Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.

The money being donated was raised following a month-long effort in April as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities planned at UNOH and OSBA.  The Counseling Center and Title IX offices at UNOH partnered to host a month full of educational and interactive activities to raise awareness about sexual violence and educate campus members on how to prevent it. Donations were accepted as part of dress down days on campus, registration fees for a community 5K walk, and T-shirt sales.  All proceeds from fundraising events are being donated to local community agencies serving survivors in our area, including Crime Victim Services, Mercy Health St. Rita’s and Lima Memorial Health System.
