Neko Loyal stopped by campus with the Max-D Monster Jam truck

UNOH graduate, Neko Loyal, got to show off his successful career to hundreds of incoming students at the College of Applied Technologies August Orientation. Neko is currently working for Monster Jam as the Crew Chief for the Megalodon truck.

Neko grew up racing Pro Mega trucks next to Ryan and Dennis Anderson at Dennis Anderson’s Muddy Motorsports Park. Even with that background, Neko owes his career in Monster Jam to the knowledge he gained while at UNOH. When searching for a university to study automotive technology a friend told him to look at UNOH and after he visted the campus, he was sold.

Despite starting a new chapter in life far away from where he grew up in Florida, UNOH quickly felt like home to Neko. “It wasn’t just the teacher-student relationship, it was friendship, brotherhood. Everything about the school is amazing,” Neko exclaimed. The small class sizes are beneficial to not only getting in depth with the course work but to form connections and relationships to peers and instructors.

From customs class to high performance drive lines, the courses prepared Neko to handle the power and suspension behind these trucks. The overall understanding that comes with studying at UNOH helps technicians comprehend the entire truck, not just their specific position. This is what makes UNOH graduates more appealing to employers around the world.

Making the trip back to campus with Monster Jam reminded Neko of when he first started at the university and the emotions of starting college. “They really need to just come out of their shell and experience the whole deal here at UNOH,” Neko stated. “It's going to offer them a good life chance in the future!”

Neko gets to see the world with Monster Jam, from visiting his stomping grounds back home to making the best memories in Australia. He reminisced about winning every show in Australia and forming relationships with his teammates that will last forever. But Neko remembers where he came from and tells people interested in joining Monster Jam to, “come to UNOH because the school is top notch. Out of 10 out of 10, it’s a 10.”
