Dear University of Northwestern Ohio Family,

We are currently living during a time of profound change.  We have been following the protests occurring both locally and across the nation in recent days and weeks. UNOH Administration wants to extend our hearts, thoughts, and prayers to not only the family of George Floyd who died in police custody in Minneapolis, but to our entire community of people, regardless of color.

Even though we are facing a public health crisis in the Covid-19 pandemic, we ask that you take the time to pause and reflect on the events of the past week and focus on what we as individuals, a community, and a nation can do to prevent events like this from happening again.

UNOH’s own goal statements emphasize the growth and support of a diverse campus population to perpetuate a culture that is accepting of students, faculty, and staff with diverse experiences and backgrounds. To our students, staff, and faculty of color, we see you, and we are here for you.

Many of you are currently residing in your home communities as the pandemic forced UNOH to temporarily suspend face-to-face classes.  While there, please take care and be safe.  Each of you are a valued member of the UNOH family.  Your voice matters, but so does your safety.

Take Care,

Presidential Cabinet
