UNOH Graduate Daniel Sanchez
Written by Communications Specialist Georgia Beard
The day of his graduation from UNOH, Daniel Sanchez, saw a career opportunity and acted immediately. After a few weeks of trying out the job, Daniel made the move to Illinois full-time for Out-Pace Racing Products working in their warehouse and managing their social media channels.
Out-Pace Racing manufactures quality suspension and chassis components in the USA. The company has been involved in racing and building race components for more than 20 years. Their innovative, patented, system reduces the time it takes to maintain your rod end components. Out-Pace has also developed many other product lines including Pinion & Frame Mounts, J-Bars, Panhard Bars Upper and Lower Control Arms, and more.
Daniel is the perfect fit for his position at Out-Pace Racing because he completed programs in both the College of Applied Technologies and College of Business. He obtained his degree in High Performance motorsports and Automotive Technology, followed by a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Marketing. While he was busy getting his degrees, Daniel continued his passion for racing while in college.
“I use every single part of the business side, and I use almost everything on the tech side, that I learned in my job today,” Daniel explained. “It’s cool that I’m still able to apply the technical part, even though I’m on the business side of the industry.”
This merge of the differing degrees is helpful for Daniel to take into work every week. After he is done managing social accounts, creating content, and work in the warehouse during the day, Daniel goes out at night to race against connections at Out-Pace. But the competition doesn’t stop him from doing good for Out-Pace and others.
“Fortunately for me, I was able to be in a position where I could give back to the university,” Daniel told us while visiting campus to drop off donated parts from Out-Pace Racing Products. “The university gave so much to me. The University of Northwestern Ohio is a great foundation for everybody, and where else should we start by selling products, other than the foundation?”
UNOH is fortunate to not only have connections to the industry for students, but as well as the other way around, alumni in the field that give back to the university. Daniel followed his passion for racing and motorsports to UNOH, which led him to a completely different path than he expected.
When Daniel started at UNOH in 2015 studying High Performance and Motorsports, he never believed that he would now be immersed in the marketing and business side of the industry. This path created a whole new passion within his original dream career, leading him 16 hours from home and supplying not only the racing world with great products, but also his alma mater.
