The University of Northwestern Ohio is proud to announce that its Agricultural Equipment Technology Degree and Diploma programs and its newly launched Construction Equipment Technology Program have received programmatic accreditation from The AED Foundation (AEDF). This prestigious recognition underscores UNOH’s commitment to providing top-tier education and training in heavy equipment technology, serving students and industry partners throughout Ohio and the Midwest.
These three programs are among the first collegiate majors accredited by AEDF. The accreditation term will span five years, from December 2024 through December 2029. The AED Foundation’s mission to foster growth and excellence within the heavy equipment industry aligns seamlessly with UNOH’s dedication to developing industry-ready graduates through strong academic programs and partnerships.
“The AED Foundation’s recognition is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students. During the accreditation process, AEDF commended the well-maintained facilities at UNOH, noting that the organization and accessibility of tools and materials here could serve as a model for other institutions,” said Dr. Dean Hobler, Provost & VP of Academic Affairs at UNOH, highlighting the significance of this achievement. “Additionally, AEDF praised our culture of safety and the strong partnerships we have cultivated with industry leaders to develop cutting-edge training aids and curriculum. This accreditation reflects our commitment to excellence and the success of our students.”
“The AED Foundation is proud to be affiliated with the University of Northwestern Ohio Agricultural Equipment Technology Degree/Diploma and Construction Equipment Technology programs,” said Karina Utreras, accreditation and recognition program manager, Associated Equipment Distributors (AED). “AED and AEDF are committed to each program’s continued success and look forward to a continued partnership with each school.”
As one of AEDF’s flagship institutions, UNOH continues to set the standard for educational excellence in the heavy equipment industry. By integrating industry partnerships and state-of-the-art facilities focusing on safety and innovation, UNOH equips students with the skills they need to thrive in a competitive workforce.
