UNOH Motorsports Team at Volusia Speedway Park

BARBERVILLE, Florida (Jan. 30, 2025) – Thursday was the first day of the UNOH Motorsports Team’s campaign at the multi-week-long Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals. Three UNOH drivers and more than 20 other team members will be in Florida into the second week of February for nine nights of racing.
Drivers Randy Giroux, Aidan Hinds and Brayden Weller are piloting the No. 1, No. 11 and No. 01 UMP Modifieds, respectively. All three drivers competed during the 2024 season at Limaland Motorsports Park.
On the night of January 30th, Giroux started third in the first heat while Weller and Hinds started ninth and 11th in the fourth heat.
The drivers were able to race once more in two Last Chance Showdowns. Giroux started and finished ninth in the first Showdown while Weller and Hinds raced in the second Showdown. Weller started 10th and finished ninth. Hinds started 16th and gained a mighty five positions to finish 11th for the night in that race.
The Feature races on January 30th, January 31st, and February 1st will count towards UMP Modified Speedweeks points but not this event’s Big Gator Championship points.
The UMP Modifieds follow an “Every Lap Matters” format for this event. The first two nights’ Features will pay $1,200-to-win and $120-to-start. The lineup for Heat races on Saturday will be determined by each driver’s accumulated points. A 24-car field will race for $2,500 during Saturday night’s Feature.
The UNOH Motorsports Team’s UMP Modifieds will compete in eight more nights of races, including the first three nights of Features and next week’s Big Gator Championship These races will continue to be broadcast on the DIRTVision streaming service app.
Racers Station on the UNOH campus will also be streaming these races live. All UNOH students are welcome to come on by and support their fellow classmates as they race for “Gator Greatness”.
