UNOH Graduate Offers Advice to Current Students

Twenty-six-year-old Rodolfo Angeles came to Lima, Ohio from Lima, Peru. It was a big change in culture and weather, however, he never looked back. In 2024, Rodolfo earned his degree in Business Administration from UNOH. Now he wants to share advice with current students and network with other alumni.
One of my fondest memories from UNOH is building strong friendships with my former classmates and learning from the university’s multicultural environment. Meeting people from all over the world made for a unique and enriching experience.
During my time at UNOH, I had the privilege of learning from many excellent professors. Some of my favorites were Jennifer Brogee, Thomas Legeman, Nathan Vandenbroek, and Brandon Miller. These instructors had a significant impact on my professional preparation, not only by sharing valuable knowledge but also by fostering a student-centered learning environment rather than simply lecturing.
After graduating, I moved to Miami, Florida, where I secured an opportunity at Northwestern Mutual. In this role, I have been learning extensively about various financial planning strategies and the importance of building long-term relationships with clients.
Currently, I am focused on professional growth and obtaining my investment licenses to expand my expertise and better serve our clients’ needs.
My main advice to students pursuing a similar career path is to prioritize internships before graduation and gain as much hands-on experience as possible. The professional world is highly competitive, especially within top global companies. Today, organizations seek candidates who possess a strong combination of education, experience, and skills to stand out in the industry.
